The paler colour of the two wines undergoing additional ageing, again with a light green streak. The bouquet is more about the fruit and less about the oak. High class and very stable. Stops eating sulphur after 18 months for the last year in barrel, Rémi informs me. A certain toastiness at the back. Excellent acidity, a formidable wine with impressive weight, length, depth and definition. Look out for this. Drink from 2028-2035. Tasted: November 2022.

92-95 Allen Meadows – Burghound

A ripe blend of white and yellow orchard fruit, especially peach, combines with notes of green fruit, acacia and spice, along with the barest hint of wood influence. The highly seductive yet markedly powerful large-bodied flavors flash evident muscle and minerality while delivering superb length on the very dry but not especially austere finale. This is though very compact and backward and a wine that should age successfully for years. Also strongly recommended provided you intend to age it appropriately.
