“The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino (with 20,000 bottles produced) has mild intensity and reaches a good point of balance. There is ripe plum and blackberry fruit, but background aromas of toasted spice, grilled herb and crushed stone add more dimension. I rather like those playful accents of dried mint and cherry cola. The fruit is on the dry side, but there is some nice primary intensity to behold.”
